August Meeting

Due to a conflict with the Valley Farmers Co-Op, we will be having our August 28 meeting at Tennessee Wesleyan College at the Glenn Lowe Dining Room, 201 East College St., Athens, TN at 7:00 p.m.  The building entrance faces Trinity UMC. Our scheduled speaker will be Stephanie Tarwater and the topic will be Africanized Honey Bees vs. European Honey Bees.

At next week’s meeting we will have the drawing for the $25 scholarship for one day’s fee at the TBA Fall Conference for new TBA members. Those of you that joined TBA this year should have received an email asking if you were interested in going to the TBA Conference in October and if you wanted your name entered in the drawing.  You can still let Jan Stephenson know by email (jls274@aol.com) or let us know at the beginning of the meeting.

Help Needed to Fill Auction Baskets for TBA Conference:

CBA will be taking two baskets for the Silent Auction at the TBA Conference in October.  One basket will be for “New Beekeepers” and one will be “Bee Novelty Items”, so we are asking members to bring donated items or a monetary contribution to our meetings in August and September so we can fill our baskets!
